The Sister's Prelude
The Sistah’s- Prelude Amy better known to the group as the “friend” is 35 years old, single, the mother of two young children and employed as a waitress. Betty respectfully known as the “outsider” is 27 years old, divorced with no children and employed as a flight attendant. Candy is known as the “champion” and is 33 years old, married with three children and enrolled in graduate school. Danielle is 42 years old, divorced with five children and is affectionally known as the “sister”. Edith is 29 years old, single with no children with a master’s degree in psychology and is known to the women as the “Crusader”. Francesca who only answers to Fran is 42 years old the mother of three children, unemployed and currently receiving welfare benefits after losing her job of 15 years and is known as the “busy body”. Gwendolyn is 49 years old the mother of three grown children who is raising two of her grandchildren on her wages as a beautician she is known as the “know-it-all”. Hominy is 28 years old, employed as a preschool teacher, living with her boyfriend and his two children and she is the half-sister of Betty, and known to the group of women as the “goody-to-shoe”. Isabella is 47 years old, college educated and professionally employed as a university professor with no husband or children and known as the “emotional black mailer”. Lastly, Jackie is 55 years old, a widower, with six grown children, thirteen grandchildren and owns the beauty salon where Gwendolyn works and is known as the “trouble maker”. While, each of these women has distinguishable roles within this circle of sistah hood each plays a fundamental part in the relationship. Each of these women have lives outside of the sistah hood that is unknown to the other sisters that will eventually lead to a renewed need to love, laugh and cry as they experience joy, heartache and tragedy in the pursuit of happiness and acceptance.
